Efficacy of sodium bentonite (SB) to ameliorate adverse effects of aflatoxin on In Vitro rumen fermentation of wheat straw

The present experiment was conducted to study the effect of sodium bentonite (SB) in ameliorating adverseeffects aflatoxin on vitro rumen fermentation wheat straw. Five treatment groups, viz. T1: control (wheatstraw); T2: T1 + 300 ppb B1 (AFB1); T3: T2 0.33% SB; T4: 0.5% SB and T5: 1.0% wereprepared incubated vitro. Truly degradable dry matter (TDDM), truly organic (TDOM),gas production (GP), microbial biomass (MBP) partitioning factor (PF) values were higherthan those other groups (T2 T5). TDDM, TDOM, GP, MBP PF lower thanthose groups. these parameters improved with increasing concentration SB.Total volatile fatty acids (TVFA), acetate (A), propionate (P) butyrate (B) higher than thoseof TVFA A value between T3 statistically similar. TVFA, A, Pand B level SB, however, that even athighest inclusion SB. A:P ratio among various treatments did not vary significantly. It concluded thataflatoxin contamination feed at significantly affected terms ofreduced matter, gas production, total concentration. Incorporation up aflatoxin-contaminated straw, partially ameliorated adverse effects parameters.
